CEO DATELINE - Dental association chief to get Forum's highest honor

Kathleen O'Loughlin, retiring longtime executive director of the American Dental Association, will receive top recognition from the Chicago-based Association Forum at its annual Honors Gala in August, the group announced. Three other association executives also will receive awards.

O'Loughlin will receive the Samuel B. Shapiro Award for Chief Staff Executive Achievement, the Forum said on March 30.
"Dr. O'Loughlin is being recognized for outstanding service in association management, a demonstrated ability and willingness to serve as a mentor, a proven record of overcoming challenges faced by a CEO, and leadership contributions that significantly and consistently impact the advancement of the profession," the Forum said in a statement.
Cie Armstead, director of diversity and inclusion at the American College of Healthcare Executives, will receive the Association Professional Achievement Award. Rob Paterkiewicz, CEO of Selected Independent Funeral Homes, will receive the Inspiring Leader Award.
"We are very excited to acknowledge these honorees as they are true leaders and innovators in the association community," Association Forum CEO Michelle Mason said in a statement.
The date of the gala is still to be determined, Mason told CEO Update.
